Paulão Kikongo, born Paulo Henrique Menezes da Silva, is a capoeira master; , holds na MA in Heritage, Culture and Society at PPGPACS/IM/UFRRJ and a specialist in Heritage, Cultural Rights and Citizenship at NDH/UFG. He currently is a doctoral student in Social Memory at UNIRIO; a researcher at the Southeast Cultural Heritage Observatory (FAPERJ/UNIRIO) and a researcher at the GEPECAfro/UFRRJ Study Group on Education, Heritage and Afro-Brazilian Culture.
As well as being a member of the Integrated Network of Registered Intangible Heritage, the Forum of Culture Points in the State of Rio de Janeiro, the National Network of Popular and Traditional Cultures and the National Action Network for Capoeira, M Kikongo is the coordinator of the Kilombarte Memory Point and the Rádio Capoeira. He has also been a national, state and municipal councillor for cultural policy.
