AHRC Research Assistant: Dr Christine Dettmann. Christine was the Senior Research Officer of the project 2010-2013. She now holds a chair in Ethnomusicology at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in Germany.

Research Consultant: Mestre Cobra Mansa

Research Consultant: Mariana Candido, Assistant Professor of African History, University of Kansas. Mariana Candido’s research focuses on the history of West Central Africa during the era of the transatlantic slave trade. Her research interests include the history of slavery; forced migration and labor; the South Atlantic world; and the African diaspora. Candido is the chair of the Lusophone African Studies Organization and a network member of the Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on the Global Migrations of African Peoples.
